The origins of S-3 begins at the 2017 HHS Opioid Code-a-Thon where a team led by CEO and Professor Tim Mackey were named as a finalist in the competition and subsequently won a Startup Award from the National Institutes of Health.  After that, the company was formed and was later awarded a Phase I and II NIDA SBIR contract to develop advanced technology to combat illicit online drug sales.  Since then the company has grown and now has clients across several industries and different public health use cases.  To learn more about S-3's journey check out this story about the company in Challenge.gov.
