Job Description: Design, develop, and implement data analysis workflows to transform raw structured and unstructured data into meaningful insights using programming languages such as Python and SQL.    Build, apply, and evaluate statistical and machine learning models, including classification, topic modeling, and entity recognition, to support health and public health, business, and technology-related research projects. Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using business intelligence tools (e.g., ReTool) to communicate project outcomes and inform both technical and business stakeholders. Perform data preparation, validation, and quality control to ensure reproducibility, transparency, and accuracy of analytical and research outputs.    Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including Power Pivot, scenario modeling, and complex formulas, to support analytical and reporting needs.    Apply version control systems (e.g., Git) and cloud-based data tools (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, AWS S3) to manage datasets and support collaborative workflows. Develop and present data-driven use cases, reports, and supporting materials to clients, sponsors, and stakeholders to demonstrate the value and application of analytical solutions.    Design and build application prototypes that demonstrate the implementation of data science and analytics solutions for internal projects, clients, and federal sponsors. Design, develop, and test multi-agentic generative artificial intelligence tools that have chatbot capabilities, custom knowledgebases, and structured prompts for health and other business specific use cases. Have experience with the full scientific research process, including drafting technical data science and public health related manuscripts, developing and implementing research methodology, and navigating the scientific publication process. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, data scientists, and business leads, to ensure that analytical results and prototypes align with organizational objectives and client requirements.

 

Job Requirements: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation (e.g. Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Research Analyst). Must possess the following:

  1. 2 years of experience programming in Python, Python documentation for data analysis and modeling, including use of libraries such as Pandas or scikit-learn.

  2. 2 years of experience using SQL for querying, joining, and aggregating data from relational databases.

  3. 2 years of experience developing data visualizations and dashboards using business intelligence tools such as ReTool.

  4. 1 year of experience applying machine learning or natural language processing (NLP) workflows.

  5. Experience with version control systems such as Git and cloud-based data tools such as BigQuery, Redshift, or AWS S3.

  6. Experience with generative artificial intelligence tools to develop multigenic generative AI platforms.

  7. Experience applying data science research to research problems demonstrated by co-authoring at least five (5) peer-reviewed publications.

Salary: $121,000-$159,000 per year

Work Hours:     9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 5 day 40 hr/wk.
